Lesson (40min)

  • Mat Returns
    • Rear Position Standing
      • Make sure to keep hips together & hands clinched.
      • If they start to open the gap step to close.
    • Switch
      • Start from Rear Standing Position
      • Switch your feet, drop your outside knee to the floor.
      • Different to video, use a bent knee, foot on floor.
      • Different to video, sit your opponent on your quad, then continue to turn rolling them over your leg
      • Make sure to ground your opponent.
      • If students get the grasp of this well, then show advanced version, make sure:
      • They understand that the straight leg need to turn so their knee points away and not to the sky
      • If they pull their opponent onto their straight knee and it is facing the roof, they may injure their own knee.
    • Double Leg
      • Start from Rear Standing Position
      • Your opponent gets you hands stretched out, and you are about to loose position,
      • Drop level, and put your ear to their hip,
      • Circle to the front position, and attack the knees to hit the double,
      • Continue to circle, and run across your opponent finishing the double
