Lesson 15 – Break Downs

Warm Up (10min)

  • Line Drills (3-min)
    • Any
  • Partner Drills (7min)
    • Bottom Position Hand Fighting 5-min
    • Cross Wrist
    • One-On-One
    • Two-On-One
    • Drill all of the above

Lesson (35min)

  • Thigh Pry – Spiral Ride – 2 On 1
    • Thigh Pry, Spiral Ride – Near hand under armpit, you can grab collar bone.
    • Drive them forward with inside knee up bum.
    • Grab collar bone circle and drive loading the inside arm, pulling on the Thigh Pry.
    • Go to a 2 on 1.
  • Tight Waist
    • Start with the Thigh Pry and Spiral Ride, bring there weight forward onto their hands.
    • Put front knee infant of their knee, and back knee up their bum.
    • Reach over the top for a tight waist, replace knee with hand then put the knee back.
    • Move behind drive them forward lifting their hips and chopping their arm.
    • Make sure to step with the outside foot to stay on top.
  • Chop To Oki
    • From Tight Waist or Thigh Pry
    • Elbow chop and rotate their head into you.
    • This should break them down onto their close elbow, their head should also be on the floor
    • As they rotate, hook your inside leg under their shin.
  • Attack Hands For Cross Wrist
    • From the breakdown or by attacking the inside hand,
    • Pass the hand across their body to get the cross wrist and or 2 on 1.
  • Head In Arm Pit
    • If they block the cross wrist by planting their hand into the floor,
    • Place your head in their arm pit and pull the arm into the cross wrist, bar or wrist ride.
  • Safe Ankle
    • If the 1st two fail, let the tight waist go and reach behind to grab the far ankle,
    • Reach under and pull the far knee with the other hand.
