Staph Infection
- There was a suspected case of Staph in the gym the week before last. We don’t get cases often but they do and can happen.
- If you see someone the has a skin condition that could be Staph please do not let the person train. Ask them to go to the doctor and get it checked, ask them to ask the doctor to swab and test as some doctors just prescribe antibiotics, but it is good for us to know for sure.
- Please make sure people have clean, dry training gear, if training gear is smelly, that smell is a sign of bad bacteria.
- If you see someone that has been on the tools and they are going to train, please ask them to make it a habit to shower before training.
- If someone has had staff it is a good idea that they wear a long sleeve rashie and spats under their training gear, and that they shower after training ASAP, from then on, as people are more likely to have repeated staph infections.

Kids
- Kids moving to adults
- Don’t pressure kids to move into adults classes, some are just not confident enough and will fell like they are no longer welcome in the kids classes.
- Don’t ask them to move up unless they are about to turn 17yo, and even then tread carefully, and talk to me first.
- Let them come to you and ask when they can move into adults classes. This is a big sign that they feel ready.
- Generally kids can go into adults classes when they turn 15yo, exceptions can be made for younger but please talk to me first.
