- If someone falls or lands on their head or neck, or if they land on someone or something that could have injured their back, neck or spine they could be at risk of a spinal cord injury. They may say they heard a crack from their neck or back, or they may say they felt a numb or tingle sensation in their arms, legs, fingers, toes.
- If you ever believe there could be a risk of a spinal injury, please do your best to keep the person at risk still, do not move them or let them move themselves, even if they believe they are ok. Call 000 and let the ambulance workers handle the situation. To date we have had 2 x spinal concerns at SASSOM both were cleared and ok after scans we done at the hospital.
