Lead Body Rip & Punch Block-Stage 5
Warm Up – 5min
- Line Drills
- 10 Push Ups, Sit Ups, Squats
- Kick Drill
Striking Development Lesson – 10min:
- Basic Footwork: Stance & Guard (Don Madge)
- Punch – Lead Body Shot / Body Rip
- Different to video: When you step in with the lead foot also move the back foot
- Essential Detail: Make sure to load the shot, knees bent and rear shoulder forward
- Most Common Mistake: Dropping the rear hand
- Drill Orders: Start with the footwork, followed by loading the shot, finish with the actual punch
- Add: A slip to your partners cross, then throw the Body Shot, Lead Hook, Cross
BJJ Development Lesson – 10min
- Punch Block – Stage 5
- Indicator: Bully avoids leaning forward in Stage 4 of the Punch Block Series.
- Essential Detail: Use front leg to push and pivot, keep other leg coiled and ready to block at all times.
- Most Common Mistake: Blocking leg too extended making it too easy to grab.
- Safety Tip: Use one of your hands on the ground to control the impact of your weight.
- Transfer Teaching Tip: As the child’s legs get stronger dive with more and more weight.

Thai Pad – 5min:
- 1min Rounds they will hold for each other. (Instructors need to teach them how to hold)
Sparring – 10min:
- 1 x 2min Rounds, Hands Only
- 1 x 2min Rounds, Kicks Only
- 2 x 2min Rounds, BJJ Pass or Sweep
