Push Kick Defence & Elbow Escape Mount
Warm Up – 5min
- Line Drills
- 10 Push Ups, Sit Ups, Squats
- Punch Drill
Striking Development Lesson – 10min:
- Basic Footwork: Foot Positioning & Distance Management (Don Madge)
- Parry Front Kick (Duane Ludwig)
- Different from video:
- Kick the hamstring on the counter not their bum
- Essential Detail: Use both the side step & the parry
- Most Common Mistake: Not bringing the guard back up ASAP
- Partner Reminder: Kick slow and controlled, but also kick though them
- Safety Tip: Don’t kick too hard on the counter
- Drill Orders: Start with just the parry then add the counter kick

BJJ Development Lesson – 10min:
Elbow Escape Mount
- Standard Elbow Escape
- Indicator: Bully prevents the Trap and Roll Escape by establishing wide base.
- Essential Detail: Flat leg and a solid knee shove.
- Most Common Mistake: No final hip scoot during the second leg removal.
- Safety Tip: Be careful not to crush the child’s inner thigh with your knee.
- Transfer Teaching Tip: Make your legs heavier and heavier each time.
Noodles – 5min:
- 1min Rounds they will hold for each other. (Instructors need to teach them how to hold)
Sparring – 10min:
- 2 x 2min Rounds, Kick & Clinch
- 2 x 2min Rounds, Back Position Wins
